Where do you attach the top straps? The bottom 2 are obvious, but I couldn't find a similar attachment point for the top 2. Anyone got pics? Thanks.

The 3 bar slider goes through the plastic triangle on the frame or the packbag.

The plastic triangles on the frame seems too low. Seems to me like the top straps should attach higher up on the frame. The triangles are about mid frame. Gelton your pic didn't work.

I think thats how its designed to work. I converted mine to g hooks so i can attach it anywere on the frame.

Or maybe I have the bottom attachment points wrong. I'm using the "female" attachment for the 3 bar slider at the bottom of the bag. Vertically speaking, this puts the bottom attachment point too close to those triangles on the side of the frame. The only other lower attachment point I can see working is where the bag attaches to the frame.

I have pics toward the bottom of how I had it, and Aron explained how it was supposed to be(as far as the bottom of the grab-it on the frame goes. I attached the top by putting those buckles with the open end(I don't know if these are the g-hooks) to the loops on the top of the frame. I'm not sure if that's correct, but it worked for packing in about 30 lbs a couple weeks ago. It was kind of an awkward load(I had a camp chair and a tent and a duffle bag) and it seemed to work alright.

Still confused. At the bottom of my bag I have the plastic open loops that would work, but then that puts the bottom attachment point too high up and close to the triangles on the side if those are to be the top attachment points. This would not make the grab it very functional. Then below that I also has the spot where the bag attaches to the frame with the same 3 bar slider and the plastic open loop. Am I to de attach this and attach the grab it here? Doesn't the bag need to stay attached at this point? Then below that I also have 2 open nylon strap loops. No plastic loops there. It would make more sense if there were plastic loops there, maybe mine were forgotten in assembly?

I am having trouble uploading pics but my DT1 has sewn in nylon loops on the bottom. The bottom of my grab it has two three bar sliders. Those three bar sliders can be turned sideways to fit through and then attach to the nylon loop that is sewn onto the bottom of the bag. The top two go through the two triangular plastic pieces that are attached to the frame. With these attachment points you can cinch it up as tight as you would like. If you are trying to do it without a full bag then it may seem like it wont work but when the bag is full and/or something is in the grab it, then you wont need it to be attached at a higher point because the volume will fill the space.

I guess that makes sense as I was trying to do it with an empty bag. So you are putting the bottom 3 bar sliders through the bare nylon loops? The ones without plastic loops on them?

I attach the btm 3 bars to the btm of the frame. Bag does not need to be attached there. Top straps go to the top of the frame. Triangles are way too low for me.

Its really a matter of personal preference I am sure, but mine came attached directly from the factory using the plastic loops sewn into the bottom of the bag and the triangle attachment point in the middle of the frame. I can see why someone would want it higher on the frame though. I carry my 3 man 4 season tent in my grab it so I don't necessarily want it attached to the bottom of the frame because in that position it would be wedged between the bottom of the bag and the grab it. With it just the way it is (loops on bottom and triangle mid frame) my tent fits in there perfectly and keeps the heavier weight off the bottom.

With a full bag and something in the grab it, it will cinch down as tight as you want to get it.

You guys should check Google, there's a ton of pics with a Grabit installed.

But none of which I could find show close up shots of the attachment points.

So after farting around with the thing for a long time, I can find numerous ways to attach it, but they all seem jury rigged. How exactly did Kifaru INTEND to have the thing installed?

The metal 3 bar sliders of the grab it obviously mate together with the plastic open rectangle loops. There are only one pair of these at the bottom of the pack for the obvious attachment of the grab it on the bottom, but there are none anywhere higher up for the top attachment points. There are several naked nylon strap loops higher up and this problem could have easily been solved by Kifaru installing another pair of the open plastic rectangles on them. Are mine just missing?

Mine came from Kifaru (purchased with bag) attached to the triangle loops on the frame. This is a pick with the grab it attached to a packed bag. As you can see the grab it is tight and has about 4 inches of adjustment left on both sides (8 inches total) of the bag and it is cinched as tight as can be:

Here is a picture with nothing in the grab it and the bag lightly packed and you can see that it is tight and the grab it inst even cinched all the way down:
