DRT Terminal shock results on game

They pulled the listing for the 79s. Can't find them on the site period. Did you hear anything from them? Last I heard they said they'd have some in a few months about 1-2 months ago. I hope they didn't quit selling just the projectiles!
I asked and they said probably next week, but the 152gr 277 is probably done for due to low demand.

Has anyone shot game at the listed minimum impact velocity of 1800fps? Just wondering if this bullet needs a “safety factor” like mono bullets needing 2100-2000.

I have not had an impact at that low of velocity. This bullet is nothing like a mono. It acts more like a cup and core. It more or less is.

The 135g was highly destructive at 2k fps. Complete fragmentation. At 1800 maybe you get a longer neck length (as long as they upset consistently). Too small of a sample size to say for sure, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate at or a bit below 2k.

Appreciate the info, based on my 6.5cm load data it would be at 1800fps around 550yds. Makes for a good load for everything I need so long as the bullet does expand/upset at that velocity, and I shoot straight in that situation…

That is a big nasty looking boar!!

A big pig like that can be fairly tough to kill and pretty critical on shot placement. Good test media IMO.
