DRT Terminal Shock Load Data

Went and shot my 135 DRT, 2.30 CBTO, Peterson 1x, 43.0 RL16, GM210M loads. I did a 30 round zero on my Left Handed 6.5CM (about 100ish down the pipe) as opposed to my RH 65 CM that probably has 700+. So velocity might improve on the LH at some point ...

My initial Garmin velocity on the RH was 2795, where this 30 rounds in the LH was 2779

Conditions: Had a bit of gusty wind (R->L) 5-10 mph, so SOME of the horizontal variation COULD be from that (either that or they were "fliers" ... that was for you @Formidilosus). While this is not a "group to write home about", I am actually happy with it. With a vertical dispersion of a bit over 1.6 MOA, and a potential for the horizontal to MAYBE be a smidge tighter, this is a group I can hunt with.

At 2779, this drops to < 1800 fps at 600y (at my 2600 DA), 750y @ ~10K DA. Assume a 2.0 MOA
- 600y : 12" ... big deer, any Elk, most bear(?)
- 750y : 14.5" ... deer questionable (prob not), any Elk, some bear(?)

Rock on and hunt. I took my CA bull with the same bullet going 100fps slower. Worked great.

223, 11x fired Lapua, 23.0xbr, cci450 with the 79gr DRT. Average velocity 2810fps for the group.

Made the adjustment up .1 and left .1 from the 77tmk zero, then trued it down to 1600fps impact with another 10 shot group. .395 G1, identical to the 77tmk. One click elevation and 1 click windage is all that separates the two, same exact dope which aligns well with quick drop.

DRT released some factory 6.5 PRC in the 135 TS. I took it out to shoot today and it shot ok (although my shooting today was not great with some horizontal stringing) and consistent with what others have posted from their factory offerings. The 79g is the only factory from DRT I have gotten to shoot close to 1 moa with 3 different calibers now. Nice to have on hand for Wisconsin white tails. I’ll try to shoot a better group next time to see the impact and will also get some custom made via UM which usually shoot well for me.
