Updated. Thought my prc velocities were a little slow but after some reading, seems like they're in the right neighborhood. 6 creed seems slow, but it's a brand new barrel so may need to just wait for it to speed up.

Ok, ended up with the following for my 65 CM for anyone else who is trudging down this path:
  • 46.5g Ramshot Hunter (47 had slight ejectors, so out of the @Formidilosus book on Painless Load Development ... "dropped .5g and loaded up ...")
  • CCI 200
  • Peterson LRP
  • Obviously 135g .264 DRT
  • COAL 2.775 (per recommendation from DRT)
My 47g was 2896 (Garmin Chrono) out of a 21" (cut) Tikka factory barrel. I figure the 46.5 should be around 2840 ish.

I'll post my "group" results when I get to it over the next few days, and update velocity.

I never tried the Varget, and RL16 was slight ejector @ 45g and 2862fps

*** UPDATE ***
Gonna try the RL16, the Hunter did not work well for me.

**** UPDATE 2 ****
Tried 44.5 RL16 and 45.5 Hunter … Hunter was better:

Not sure if I am going to pursue the DRT or just stick with my current Hammer Hunter load (vertical string is a bit odd to me)

If I go DRT, it will be the 45.5 Hunter

Also shot the DRT factory 79 gr terminal shock out of my FN 15 TAC3 (16" 1-7) with tbac ultra 7 yesterday. Avg mv was 2510 fps with es 51 across 8 rounds. Didn't do a full 10 round zero/group but looks like it will do at least 1.5-2" at 100yd. Want to see how it does out of my tikka as well.

Was that the regular 223 terminal shock or the newer elite 223 terminal shock?

Up to 43.5gr RL16 in the 6 creed with still no pressure signs. Velocity is getting into the neighborhood of what I was hoping. Might try another .5gr, which will likely put powder right at the base of the neck.

Update on a 6.5 loading. I am not able to reload at my current place, so I am using a few custom shops and my uncle does some reloading for me. This one is from Hendershots and I had them work up a load for the 6.5x55 Swede in a Tikka T3 19” barrel with Banish Backcountry suppressor. They do a nice job, but with the Swede and lack of modern book values, most loads are pretty anemic.
2.95” COAL
135 DRT terminal shock
Lapua brass
N560- They did not share grains of power used, but I weighed components and came out with 48grains minus primer which I estimate at 2.5-4 grains. Guesstimating around 45g or so of powder.
2694.6 fps average, ES 52.9, Stdev 15.3
The load shot fine but my shooting today was terrible. VV SKAN loading table below.

I will be working up a 135g round with my uncle with 555 hoping to be north of 2800 with a bit better ES and stdev.

300 WSM factory seconds of 175g TS that I bought from DRT factory website. Shot in a Browning Hells Canyon Long range 26” barrel and TBAC 7. I emailed the DRT folks with the lot number and they shared the data:
61.0 g H100v
2.825” coal
175g TS
Federal brass

I shot 8 rounds at 2854.5fps avg. 93.6 ES, 27.1 std dev. I shot horrible so the shooter system has less than ideal MOA today with 4 fliers, but the core 4 shots as far as rifle and this particular load around 1moa.

Not going to be my go to for longer range, but it will suffice for sub 300 whitetails in Wisconsin.

Working with Unknown Munitions on load development for 175g TS in my 300 wsm. Shot a ladder today and results:
Browning Hells Canyon 300wsm 26” barrel TBAC 7
ADG brass
215m primer
2.825” Coal
H4350
61.5g- 2907fps avg, 17.5 std dev, 25 es
62.0- 2928 avg, 11.9 std dev, 24 es
62.5-2956 avg, 21 st dev, 38 es
63.0- 2978 avg, 8.5 std dev, 17 es
63.5 - stiff bolt lift and slight ejector mark, 2998 avg, 6.9 std dev, 13 es

Will likely load between 63.2-63.4. Waiting to hear what UM says to data.

Assuming they grouped okay, I’d just have them send a big batch at 63.0 and go shoot!

I’m interested to see how the N555 load work goes. The VV SKAN data shown is for a 670mm barrel, so a bit more that 7inches longer than what you’ve got.

I havent loaded DRT yet, but following here before trying. With 140gr partitions and a standard 570mm/22.3” Tikka I was seeing some intermittent ejector marks at about 2740fps last weekend using N555.

I will keep you posted. Probably early fall I will have data ready to share. That is helpful intel on 555, hoping to hit 2750 without pressure I would gladly take that if it groups well. Thanks!
