Dream Job!

I thought this was for our dream jobs, like professional oil boy for the Victoria secrets bikini team, or professional elk hunter… etc …
Not quite that dreamy! You’d sure get to see a lot of animals in the winter though and I doubt the district manager would frown on you carrying your predator rifle in the blade.

2018. They offered $10.50hr to start but required a CDL, MSHA cert, 10+ yrs experience and be on call 24/7 during plow season.

Taco Bell paid $17hr during the same time frame.
That is absolutely wild! Such a disconnect. Yeah most starting 0 skill positions in my town start at 19-20 an hour

State of AK is like $27/hr for that. Can work civil construction jobs for 2X state wages. And they wonder why they can't get help.

The place your talking has a road in and out? Hell, that's city work.

Disconnect is a huge understatement. I laughed my tits off all the way home from the interview.
I was on a hiring committee for a position that wanted a 4 year degree with 2 years of experience. If I remember correctly they wanted to pay 37000 a year. This would have been 21-22 time frame.

After a couple months of nobody applying we had a meeting and got it bumped to 42000.

At that time, In N Out was hiring and starting wage for basic cashier/order taker was 21 an hour. 37000 a year for full time is a little less than 18 an hour.

You're preaching to the quire sister.

Taco Bell wasn’t paying $17/hr in 2018, I’d be surprised if it was more than 7.25/hr at that point. Things didn’t go crazy til 2020

I mean, if they paid what the Post Falls Highway District does, id go apply in a heart beat. Got my Road scholarship training, other training, cdl, actual plowing experience and picked up road rage towards the general public. But my wife wont move for less.
