Dream hunts?

If money were genuinely no object I'd spend billions lobbying to open up a season on the Malabar giant squirrel. Then I'd get tags for me and my buddy.

Whatever I can get tags for myself and all three kids and have a reasonable chance of success without half-killing ourselves. Right now that's squirrels and whitetails. I'd eventually like it to include elk on a regular basis and mule deer/pronghorn once in a while.

I would do a 28 day safari in old Africa taking all of the dangerous 7 in one trip.

Second would be Alaska with brown bear, caribou, and moose combo. Hopefully get lucky on a wolf too.

When I was a kid watching hunting shows on TV, I saw a sitka blacktail hunt. Since then that has been my dream hunt. Im happy to say I did that hunt in 2024.
Now my other dream hunt may never happen unless I get lucky in a giveaway hunt or something. Stone sheep..

Horseback hunt for Mountain Lion with hounds. Dry ground hunt. (AZ, NM, UT...) Hunt until successful be it one day or 28 days. Hopefully closer to the 10 day point so I get to enjoy that many days in the saddle enjoying the beautiful SouthWest.

I've had a layered answer for this question for a while, now.

1. No rules, no limits. I want a one-on-one hunt with a Cape Buffalo. Handgun or Archery equipment. No backup, just me against the animal in a "winner take all" type scenario.

2. My "stretch" goal hunt is a Rocky Mountain elk in the rut with a bow (or handgun if possible)

My third "goal" or dream hunt was taking a representative whitetail buck by any means and, after 38 years, I made that happen during the 2025 season.
