So I h ave a 22 ft boat that gets some action on the coast as well as major rivers and lakes (I.e. the Columbia). Running a jet as well as a trolling motor.

Looking to buy some new/used downriggers and wondered what you all run. Obviously would like to be budget conscious, but not opposed to spending a little if the differential is worth it.

Had some very old ones previously (Brand unknown, non electric). Any help is appreciated

I have had good luck with Cannon Mag 10's for trout/salmon fishing. No issues going on 7 yrs now. I know Scotty is more popular in AK...

The cheap Cannon manuals are solid too, just depends on how you like to fish and whether the upgrade to electric is worth it or not.

Yeah the electric upgrade seems awesome but dang they are spendy!

Have run Big Jon, Scotty, and Cannons on various boats, plus a couple of other brands when I used to charter. I'd say tge Cannons are the best value. Have had a set I've kept and ran on 3 boats over 20 years and haven't had 1 problem. I also like thier accessories.

If money were no object, the Cisco are really well build units.

Scotty 1106 for the budget friendly, 2106 if you have a couple hundred extra to spend and the Cannon Optimum if you want top of the line (IMO). Yes I have used/use all three alot.
