Down vs Synthetic

I've been on trips in SW Alaska on the coast when it was so soggy the whole time.....a Syn bag is the way to go.

Just about any other hunt...a down bag is superior. I have lost some loft on my down bag in Alaska ...but it wasn't to the point of failure.

I would add; the higher loft 800 fill and above are definitely worth the little extra $$.

Is it legal to live in California and own a real goose-down sleeping bag?

Mines made from baby Seal fur and hummingbird down. If Gavin Newsome is only worried about importation of Cecil the lion and other species he deems 'Endangered'.

If he only knew how many hummingbirds it takes to make a bag to cover my significant azz....he would go ballistic.

I was wondering the same. I’ve been trying to wonder how or when I would get my bag wet. From everyone else’s experiences it sounds like getting your bag wet doesn’t happen often

in damp climes over the course of a few days it can definitely happen- moisture in the air, moisture from your body, moisture from damp clothing, etc
