Double Elk Deadhead

Hi All,

Found a double elk deadhead in the WY woods during archery and wanted to share. The two bulls died together sparring as both spines were nearby. The antlers are fully locked and not separable. Anyone else find some weird stuff in the woods lately?

I found someone's dead 6x6 bull a few days ago. It was shot in the neck.

No interesting finds for me this year. Crazy looking antlers.

I found 4 butchered whitetails on my property last year in MO, one of them an illegal buck for the area. The local game warden was not interested in even taking a look. Hmmm

I’ve yet to see bulls that size really get after it but I always seem to see them sparing. Those little bulls will spend all of September dicking around. I bet they were messing around and got themselves stuck.

Wild looking bulls. I bet that was a heck of a fight

Not exactly the same but about 12 yrs ago a friend and I shot 2 locked bulls. One had an eye guard in his neck. They were going to die anyway.

I found a bull that somebody gut shot and killed this year. They cut the horns off and didn’t take anything else

Curious can you tell if those antlers were broken before the fighting, or if they were probably full horns that animals chewed on until you found them. One for sure looks bulged like it grew that way.
