Dont know how many Rock Climbers we have but FYI Black Diamond Recall

Well, that sucks. I toured the BD facility once and it was super cool. I got the feeling there were a number of people (mechanical engineers as well as the business folks) working there well below their pay grade by choice. Almost everyone brought their dogs to work and they had some kind of "take the day off if conditions are ideal" program that was on top of your vacation and sick days.

I just visited their contract manufacturer in the Philippines in January and the testing those harnesses go through is insane.

Makes me feel comfortable, was just using their carabiners for lead climbing here in September

I happen to have one of the screw lock ones that is being recalled. I have no clue how to actually know whether it is defective or not.

It may just have to move from life safety to a utility carribeaner.

Thanks for the heads up! I have 1 or 2 of the carabiners for my treestand harness, so I will have to check them out.
