Dog GPS collars

Thats cool that it beeps and shocks in case you aren't around- and no monthly. How is the accuracy of the perimeter?

The perimeter seems to be accurate, however I’m unable to get my entire property line, the geo fence only goes so far. We have an acre and we can get a little more than half. My lab will push the line but I’ll use the vibrate mode on him with the remote and he comes right back, took maybe a week off and on getting him used to the signals and the boundaries. You can set different individual levels of output for the beep, vibration and shock.

I use the invisible fence GPS system. It will go as big as you want, has to be a minimum of 1/2 acre. I do believe there is a monthly subscription. My wife would know that. You only need one collar and 2 batteries. Keep on battery on charger and change them out every couple of days. It uses a tone warning system. Tone increases in volume and frequency the closer they get until it shocks them. I have 2 high drive GSP and neither one of them will get close to it. They know exactly where the tone is going to start and they stop right there. I can't even call them to it. 5 years and dog has never crossed it. You can get a report that shows how close the dogs have gotten, if they have gotten toned and if they have gotten shocked. Mine have been toned a time or two but never shocked.

I am looking for the same thing to OP asked, I have 2 labs that are well trained and I have a fenced in backyard and a dog door to the backyard. I want to add a GPS system sp that I can set up the front yard so the dogs can go there but not get the busy street with 45 mph speed limit (death awaits there).

I see units where you can use your phone to set a boundary like the halo, that is exactly what I want. I strongly prefer to monthly fee.

What do you suggest? This is strictly for keeping them in my yard. I do not need tracking just to keep them contained. I want something that shocks them not just sounds (I think it is more effective and this is life or death for them).
Just out of curiosity why? If you have a backyard why do you want them in the front yard? Especially given the speed limit.

My neighbor is retired and would like to have them around when she works in her backyard (which is in line with my front yard). They would love the extra attention but they do not need it. It would also provide a second line if they get out. My driveway goes to the back and lawn mowers, kids, friends etc can easily leave the gate open. Three sides of my backyard are a fence with woods on the other side. At least every other year a tree falls through the fence - which is a way out.

It is only a matter of time before my dogs run into the street and luck will determine if they live.

Have a front yard zone and shock collar would decrease odd significantly and stop them from going to the road as well as let them into my neighbor's backyard. The "line" I would draw to keep them away from the road in the front also lines up with the back of my neighbors house. It is a win win.

I run garmin, have a 550 pro + transmiter as well as an alpha100 (which I need to sell) and both a tt15 and tt15 mini collar.

Were I getting something today it would still be the pro+ transmitter and a tt25 collar
