Does anybody have a good shotgun lubricant for very cold temperatures?

Real CLP is good in the cold. Often, shotguns struggle because they have sludge of unburned powder and oil. It needs to be cleaned and flushed with gun scrubber, then lubed with Royal Lubricants CLP Or original Break Free.

Unless you shoot a benelli. Then you just put more slip 2000 in it, and keep shooting.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a good lubricant in very cold temperatures? My automatic shotgun action is slow in temperatures under 15 degrees. I have seen Slip2000 EWL test and they look good. Anything else?

I use SLIP2000 on literally all my guns. Works like a charm. I strongly recommend them. + it’s non-toxic which I personally like…

MilTec or G96 CLP. My buddies and I use both and since we’ve changed over, never have a problem with our bolts failing to cycle. Even after an accidental dip in the water on a 20 degree day when everyone else’s turned into single shots.

I’ll second this - I’ve found that G96 synthetic CLP works great in cold temperatures.

This is the current mil spec CLP. Break free was the old version. New doesn’t have Teflon…and has more solvent to make it flow better in cold weather.

My favorite for shotguns is G96, supposedly tested to -50 degrees and it is excellent as a rust preventative as well.

I hunt a lot in negative temps in the Dakotas. I like the dry lubes the best.

MOBIL 1 synthetic 0-20w motor oil.
lots cheaper than dedicated gun oil
works great on all my guns for years.

It is -36 at my place this morning but I am staying inside and
casting bullets !!!
