It isn't just NIL. Unlimited transfers, eligibility non-requirements, and coference realingment are all gas on the dumpster fire.
How long before the Big 10 is the Enormous 28. I'ma no like it.It isn't just NIL. Unlimited transfers, eligibility non-requirements, and coference realingment are all gas on the dumpster fire.
It’s rapidly becoming just a form of semi- pro with the colleges lending their “ brand “ names. When was the last time one can recall a player at a major power 5 university sitting out because of academic insufficiency? The term “ student athlete “ is so ridiculous that it should be done away with IMO. I’m personally not nearly so invested as I once was.Ain't that a fact. The lesser division one schools can't generate enough NIL money from donors to attract players entering the transfer portal. The schools can't directly pay the players, so the money goes into a fund where it then gets dolled out. Some state laws are real murky on how involved schools themselves can get with handing out the money or advertising deals. NIL is the ruin of NCAA sports, the bigger schools will get the best players.
I came to mention this. The NFL is technically "Sports Entertainment" Meaning this classification allows the NFL to legally influence game outcomes, similar to the WWE, and can legally fix the outcome of games.

Agree. At my age that may not be too many.I don't like where it's headed as I want to see the Packers win every super bowl until I die.
Honestly, I'd like to see the NFL wind down and see the talent flow to rugby. I know too many ex-NFL players who are starting to show signs of CTE and other health issues. That doesn't account for all the college and high school players walking around with a time bomb in their brains.
I think a lot of Americans could make the transition to watching rugby 11s or 7s, and not only would it spare us the health issues, but the USA would dominate Olympics and World Cup.
Rugby's not perfect, but NFL is a long-term killer.
I don't really have an issue with playing a few game over sea, but I would not like to see extending the league to include places like, England, Ireland, Mexico and so on. I think all the air travel would be too hard on the players week after week. I might not have a problem with a team or two in Canada, after all that may be a future state.,
...
Within 5 years. They will pick off the top tier schools from the ACC and Big12, make one league. How long before the Big 10 is the Enormous 28. I'ma no like it.
Pretty much my feeling exactly. A team in Vancouver would be cool. That way I could go to a close by Packer game without getting beat up or have beer thrown at me.A Canadian team or two would be neat. I imagine those would come via expansion instead of relocation which would be preferred. Hate seeing cities lose teams.
Give em a west coast (Vancouver?) and east coast (Toronto?) team. A Canadian team might win the Super Bowl before another Stanley Cup
Games across the pond are whatever to me, definitely wouldn't agree with establishing a team over there though. Keep em within these four time zones.
Just trading fists and beer for hockey sticks and Tim Horton's hahaPretty much my feeling exactly. A team in Vancouver would be cool. That way I could go to a close by Packer game without getting beat up or have beer thrown at me.
This is the way. I rarely actually watch a game until the playoffs. Many of the games that I do watch are on a phone in a duck blind.I watch game highlights on YouTube, all the good plays from a game in 10 minutes!

It's hard to flood Packer games as all tickets are held by season ticket holders, me being one of them. There's always some available but the games are mostly Pack fans. I do sell some of my tickets online, but only for a certain price, otherwise they go for face value to family/friends.Just trading fists and beer for hockey sticks and Tim Horton's haha
Would be interesting to see if a Toronto Blue Jays effect happened. If Canada just got one team would those fans flood Seahawks, Packers, Bills, etc. (border adjacent) away games and change the home fan/away fan dynamic? At this point, Blue Jays at Mariners is a home game for Toronto. Nice folks though.
