Do you hunt solo or as a group?

always solo in Ohio for archery deer, gun season my buddies come and we howl at the moon the night before season opens and have great comradery. Elk and mulies out west we usually hunt in pairs, we are able to glass so much more and from different angles and when an animal is down another set of hands is priceless especially butchering in the dark

I archery elk hunt with a group of friends each September. It's a great time and I wouldn't consider doing it alone. If one of us kills, we all jump in and help with the skinning and packing out. I am not sure the attraction of hunting solo, particularly for elk. We enjoy hanging out in the evenings cooking and having a drink each night solving the world's problems and discussing the day's hunt or strategy for the next morning.
this is exactly how we due it on western hunts and i look forward to it. had a couple of new guys in 2021 not help to pack out a bull because they said " it would take away from their hunting''. they havent been invited back

Solo, unless my wife goes with me. After being around people all week the last thing I want to do on a day off is be around people.

I grew up in the Appalachians and I could never take any interest in bear hunting because it’s often just a mob of people and dogs. “Ah lahk t’listen t’the dawgs run” they’d say.

As an adult, I moved west and dude wrangled, packed, and guided. On one hand, it was a good way to learn some skills and some country. On the other hand, being out with people made it very un fun many times.

I have recruited some help with a hard pack out before. As well as helping others.

Almost always solo now. I have hunted with groups of friends, many times because I thought it would be fun or more fun than solo. It just doesn't work out over the long term. Everyone is there for different reasons. Everyone has different problems back in the world that creep into the hunting trip eventually. Do not get me started on family hunts. Friends are a choice, family is something else.
