Do you feel a cheek riser necessary for your Tikka?

Debating between a t3x lite or maybe a super varmint. I’m just stuck on the idea of a cheek riser being a necessity or not. Most likely going with a Nightforce NX6 with 42mm on UM low rings dovetailed in.

Would be for hunts trekking in AND for the rwnge too. The super thin stainless barrel makes me nervous it can’t really handle an all day range sesh.

For those, did you really need a cheek riser for your setup?

Not a necessity but it sure helps. Also depends on what caliber and the main use of the rifle is. Using a heavier barrel would be a lot better on the range but isn’t very practical if you have to carry it all day.

Yes for me. Depends on how well it fits you, I just make mine with padding and wrap.

I prefer the tikka without it, with normally mounted scopes, steering the gun with your head isn’t conducive to getting the best accuracy, a light contact to align the sight picture is all that is wanted or required.

I use the Victor’s on both of mine. But I’ve got a 56mm scope on one of them so it’s mounted pretty high.
