I killed this bull Friday August 31, 2012. I was 8hrs from home
I got him back to camp and let him cool overnight.
Saturday morning I loaded the quarters up in my topper, put frozen milk jugs in between the meat, covered with a sleeping bag and drove the 8 hrs home in 90 degrees
You can get ice way easier than you can find a cooler in the boonies. I take coolers. Also if it’s hot out during the day I might put meat that cooled during the night in there for the day. In the meantime coolers make good storage bins in camp for clothes (mouseproof) and my dehydrated meals etc.
