do all 30 06 load

For bear, deer, elk I would use eldx, eld, berger hybrid hunters, or tmk (have not personally used tmks but heard very good reports). Find a happy medium as far as bullet weight/velocity and b.c. number, and shoot em a whole bunch. Depending on mag restrictions and twist, I would choose the bullet best suited for your gun instead of just going with the best bc like alot of folks do.

Of the 4 you mentioned, any of them except the 180 Barnes. It's just a little heavy for a 30/06. With Barnes bullets you need to have decent velocity for reliable expansion. I'd go with one of the other three, whichever one shoots the most accurate in your rifle.

Hammered a whitetail and mule deer with Barnes 180 TTSX this year. Very accurate out my Tikka T3x. Year prior killed my whitetail and mule deer with 168 TTSX out of a Barret Fieldcraft 30-06. Also very accurate combo.

If you want a mono I have had good luck with both the barnes 168gr ttsx and the 150gr ttsx. Only killed one elk, it was down in 30 yards, and all deer Ive shot with them have been bang/flop, and without excessive meat damage even if you happen to hit the off-side shoulder. You dont need the weight for penetration with a mono so the 150’s are fine and carry enough velocity for reliable expansion out past the range where most people have any business shooting. Either one will work just fine if you limit your shots to a range where impact velocity will be over 2000fps or a bit more.

looking for some opinions trying to figure out which 06 load for a do all looking at 168gr barnes 165 gr partition 165 gr accubond or should I go 180 gr tsx?
Like both of the Nosler options, if you're going to use the Barnes the 150 gr TTSX will do everything you would want to do. No need to go heavier with a mono bullet in my opinion.

What distances?

I killed an elk at 400-425 yards last year with a 168ttsx from my 30-06, and it was a small hole in and a small hole out. Zero blood but died well under 100 yards.

I am either concluding a fluke or not enough velocity to expand.

I would recommend the 180 gr TSX load.

it is an ideal choice for hunting larger games like elk and bear.

Quit shooting those dumb monos and start shooting a real bullet. A 168 eldm doing 2850ish plus would work just fine!

Inside of 100yds, maybe. Mayyybe.....
Other than that, it'd be close to my absolute last choice. I can't think of many loadings less suitable, to be honest.

I don't have a '06 anymore, but I've been witnessed 13 bears being shot. I'm of the belief that a quickly expanding bullet is best for bears. ELD, Ballistic tip, and Bergers. They drop bears right there. '06s are not barrel burners, so I'd choose 165-178s if it was me.

I like the 180 gr AB as a hunting load with a 165 gr GK as a practive load. Found loads that match ballistically out to 500 yds.

Diff elevation Im sure so probably different for you, but 425 is right around 2000fps for me with factory 168’s. At least one person on this forum whose handle begins with an F insists these need 2200+ for reliable expansion. I’m at 2200 at 350yds. My ttsx’s have always resulted in a dead critter too, but never large exits.
