I'm taking a go a making a quilt. I've been looking at rsbtr and haven't been able decifer what material should be used for the inner and outer, they all kinda seem the same. So I need some help. I'm not real concerned with being ultra light. I would like it to be durable and dwr on the outter- thinking 1.6 hyper d - and have nice feel on the inner. Generally I'm a hot sleeper and have a tendency to sweat at night so preferably something with higher breathability and wicking ability. What would be a good fabric choice?

The 1.6 HD you are looking at would be a good outer. The 1.7 MTN XL would also be a good choice. Unless you want very burly, you don't really need to go over a 2.0oz fabric for the outer. I would step down to any of their 1.0oz fabrics they indicate have a soft feel if you are looking for a friendly interior fabric.

As for sweating while you sleep, I would recommend you wear a light base layer to handle that. I'm not sure you want your quilt soaking that up and counting on it drying out every day while your our hunting. Sure, synthetic insulation can handle moisture, but I still think your better bet is a thin merino shirt and long johns here.

Keep us posted, and don't forget the pics.

Call Rip Stop, they are very helpful. I've only worked with them on DCF projects, so cant help with a quilt.
