Looks good. Do you have some more pics? How about size, and weight?

Don't have to with Apex since it is a sheat like fabric but you could so the outside fabric didn't move around.. Where did you get the apex from I don't show 10oz at ripstop by the roll where I usually get stuff.. Also what is the exterior material and did you do zipper foot or seen? Any idea on weight and what exterior material did you use? Sorry for all the questions but looking at doing this same project.

Just completed almost the EXACT same project! Wish I had practiced on some thing a bit easier though...this was my first time on a sewing machine

Light, lofty and very easy to compact - I highly recommend this project!

The quilt is 55 inches wide by 83 inches long I basically made it like the woobie I have except the heavier apx insulation. I was thinking about putting a permanent foot box in it but I ended up putting the loops in instead. I got all the material from rip stop by the roll I think it was 140 with shipping.

Looks like you nailed it, great job. How are you planning to utilize the little loops sewn around the perimiter?

FYI - I purchased some of the Hyper D in khaki from RBTR and it is not khaki at all, it's a real gaudy gold color. Not even usable. RBTR has great stuff, but this color is way off.

I thought I could use the loops to make a foot box or too tie the quilt to my cot

How did you sew this all together? Do you have some instructions to follow? I'm trying to find the best route of trying this out

I made this by laying and cutting out the fabric and filler to the desired size. Then I put the two fabrics one on top of the other wrong sides out and laid filler on top. I pinned all the layers together and sewed them together leaving a section about two feet long open so I could turn entire blanket inside out (or I guess right side out). I made sure to sew the filling into the seam so that once the blanket is finished the filler won't bunch at the end. After flipping the blanket right side out I sewed around the edge again to close up the turning hole and finish the edge. Final step is to sew on paracord loops around the entire edge of the blanket

Nice job!

Keep us in the loop on how it holds up.
Without some minimal quilting, I'm afraid it might start tearing & balling up the insulation layer. I certainly wouldn't put it in the washer/dryer.... hand wash only.

Apex is a continuous fiber. It will not bunch, is my understanding. However im planning a quilt and will likely tack it in a few places. Could always tack later if it becomes an issue.

Thanks guys, did some reading on Climasheild Apex and it appears they claim it doesn't need any quilting AND it's machine washable..... so they say. I'd still hand wash. Interesting material, kinda has me thinking about making one as well. Certainly a LOT easier to make than a down quilt.
