I had been looking at pack covers for my Timberline 2 and wanted one in blaze orange for rainy rifle season use. I decided to place an order to Ripstop By The Roll for one of their 1.1 oz silnylon pack cover kits. I read the measuring instructions half a dozen times then went to measure. I quickly realized it was meant to be! The 1 yard of fabric required zero cutting to make the cover for my pack haha. Sewed it up on Sunday morning and tested the fit. Amateur sewer for sure but it is cool to experiment with new things. I might make one in a more subdued color in the future.

I dig it. Good job. What does the pattern look like? Shock cord used to gather it?

Yep! Nothing fancy, just a rectangle of silnylon with a rolled hem at the 4 corners, then a rolled hem on all 4 sides. Shock cord and a cord lock to suck it down. There are step by step instructions on RBTR's website.

The kit from RBTR is $8 and change. Shipping is $7 flat I think. If I had known I wouldn't have any fabric left over I'd have bought some more for stuff sacks, pull outs maybe, etc.

nice. I wish I would have gotten my sewing machine before buying a lot of the things I have, that is for sure.
if you don't have a machine ,just go get one.It is very satisfying(even if my kids call me martha)!
