Anyone built one before? I would really like to practice moving shots and there isn’t any where close to me that has any.

Not sure how far you are looking to move or shoot, but we have built them on garage door openers for the kids shooting .22s. Chain drive is better than belt drive.

I shot a charging bear target on an RC car. It was a fancy car and came fast. It was pretty fun.

How much movement are you looking for? A few balloons in the wind work pretty well if you are not looking for straight, consistent movement.

Some good ideas so far. I’m really looking at practicing running shots inside 100 yards for my timber hunts.

I saw one that used 10 speed bicycle rims turned sideways and a simple clothesline rope loop that ran at a constant speed and the targets hung off it like a ski lift. To get any distance at all it seems like it would have to have a lot of tension and the drive wheels would need to be quite high. Maybe better for small air gun or 22 targets?

I kind of liked the idea of 3/4” or 1” electrical conduit as tracks and target holder on a dolly. Not very portable, but could carry a large target. The running bore targets are similar.
