Has anyone sewn in knee pad pockets into pants? Really don’t feel like buying a $200 pair of pants just for one antelope hunt.

BDU pants have knee pad slots.

Just suck it up and buy the foundry pants. They are legit!

I'm sure there are better ones but I've never worn a pair of external knee pads that I liked. The straps with chafe your legs and make them sweat.

Thought about the chafe issue and really doubt I’ll remember or want to take the time to pull them out of my pack and put them on before a stalk. I can’t imagine wearing them all day.

How do the foundry fit vs the regular corrugate? I have to wear a small in the regular guides and they still feel billowy.

I used the arcterx knee pads, they did fine for prickly pears and aren’t super bulky or heavy.

Are you referring to the Combat Knee Caps ? Found some in their LEAF line for around $55. Sound about right? Thanks for the recommendation.

I have not owned the standard corrugate so I can not compare. I'm 6 foot and an athletic 185. They are pretty perfect for my taste. Not too skinny legged and not too baggy. I snagged this pair new off of here from someone for $165 shipped.

Go to a tactical clothing site such as Propper. Buy some tactical or military pants for 25-50 bucks that have knee pockets. All I use. I cut a piece of leather and glued it to thin padding and made my own lightweight, thin knee pad inserts that are nearly indestructable.
I am not a big fan of strap on knee pads. They can be (are hot) and are not comfortable and can be hard to keep in place when doing a lot of hiking... for me anyway.

I should have expanded on my answer. My guess is you have never owned pants with the built in kneepads like the old version Sitka Mountain pant or the Kuiu timberlines.

I own both. . They rub against your knees and the Sitka's with the foam in there is beyond annoying- after one long steep hike my knees were red from the rubbing.

Yeah sewn in knee pads suck. I use the $18 (+\-) Home Depot Husky gel kneepads both at work and hunting- awesome. Easy off and on, neoprene back. Stay away from the hard cap Kneepads.

I’ll take a look at them next time I’m up there. Maybe walk around the store for a while with them on ha

I was in need of a new pair of knee pads for general construction work. My local Home Depot has a bunch of overpriced chinese made junk with fancy brand names. Since I don’t want made in china or to advertise with the brand name and logo for a company outsourcing American jobs, I turned to a Duck Duck Go search.

BPE makes some quality and comfortable product. I’ve been crawling on my knees installing a vinyl plank floor for the last couple days and have to say these pads are great. I didn’t care about the color so I went to their sale section.

I’ll take these with me to the field later this hunt season as well.

5-11 Strike have knee pad pockets and asymmetric left and right pads. Lots of solid colors and available or about $75. way more cost effective and very comfortable.
