Looking for some recommendations for a ditty bag or pull out to organize my pack. Looking for something along the line of the Kuiu Zip Dry Bag (Medium - 9"x 5"x 3.5", 120 cu in) but something a little more affordable if a person were to buy 4 or 5 of them. Waterproof would be really nice but not a deal breaker if it were only repellent. What are your running?

I am running the kifaru UL pullouts. Whyll they are not marketed as waterproof the material does shed water if you are to set them on the ground or get a few rain drops on them whyll digging through your pack. And they seem to be pretty darn tough. I have crammed them pretty full with no issues.

I bought dry bags off ebay from china for like $3 each, they organize and semi waterproof. There not ultralight but do its job.

I have the 4L Seek Outside Possibles Pouches they come in quantities of 2. They have 2 other sizes.
I’m going to order some from Luxe Hiking Gear. Made in China but cheaper.

I'm also using the Kifaru pull outs. Although expensive for what they are, I really like them.

Question: Does anyone label their bags, or do you just know what's in them? Since all my pull outs are one color I'm trying to figure out an easy way to differentiate.

Yep, mine are almost all labelled. I try not to have anything floating around in my bag, everything goes in a pullout.

Remember kids, always pullout!

I use the Seek Outside pullouts. I use two colors and know what is in each color. Then a duplicate color with different color paracord on the zipper for my kill kit.

If I forget what’s in one, I can usually tell by feeling the outside of the bag when I grab it. Example - I can tell the difference when I feel game bags inside vs my water filtration system.

That's a good idea, thanks.
I do the same. I found a big lot of scrap 550 cord for about $10. There are probably 30 different colors in varying lengths. I picked different colors and tied a loop on the end of the pullouts. Then I can readily see what I want without unpacking everything.

Thanks for the replies on the type of bags used, I like the look of the Mountain Ridge Gear and the price is really affordable. The luxe gear has a great price as well but that purple bag gives me a headache. I have no problem with the products of the big name brand folks but just didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for a product that should cost a fortune and some of them are very proud of their stuff. Thanks again for the replies, I'll step out and ya'll can talk about labeling your bags.

These are great. I put a polyester fleece vest, an insulated baselayer, wool glove liners, and a wool beanie in one. And, use the other for a camp and toiletry bag. Inside the toiletry bag goes a couple of Luxe gear small pullouts with hygiene stuff.

I use Kifaru's XS up through their large for first aid kit, kill kit, and to hold my rain gear. XL for food bag.

So, I own a few from different people. In my opinion, the Kifaru combo kit is the best deal as it allows you to get enough of the correct sizes to truly organize you loose gear for the cheapest amount. Because the last thing you need is trying to put small kits in 4 liter bags that are way to big. You'll end up consolidating everything and it won't be organized anymore

Go Pokes, sorry if I derailed your thread. Sure wasn't the intent. Probably should've started another thread.

I don't know what Kifaru is asking for their p/outs now, but I remember paying around $60 for the entire set. Pretty high, but there are other options that might serve you better. Personally, I'd like to have different colors for different bags. might be something to consider.

Not a problem at all, its a great conversation to have when talking possible pouches, ditty bags, pull outs or whatever else they are called, Its not derailed, just added to. Plenty of good information being shared by many good people.
