I'm really thinking about buying a cheap 7BC and shooting it a bunch just to give some real world unpaid information on it. Scheels has a Savage for $600 that I just might fark with and if it shoot I'll give it away when I'm bored with it.

I agree. But if you're a factory ammo shooter and you use those rounds, get them when and where ya can.

Well Scheels sent me an email for $50 off a purchase of over $500 so I made the purchase. Ships to the store from the manufacturer so might take a week or two to get it. I'll try and get the 4 types of ammo available and get some groups and velocities from each. I'll check with SilencerCo to make sure that my Omega 300 is good to go with the 7BC. Anything else you'd like to see done with it? Maybe I'll bring it over to Idaho and let you play with it.

Could you do a wallop comparison with other cartridges? Maybe see if it rings steel with more authority or blows milk jugs up more impressively.

The only way it will do that is if it delivers the payload at higher velocity. I'm sure it "wallop" will be seen on both ends...

There are some good Nosler Partition choices. Those are the bullet choices I hunt with in 7 mag, 30-06, 300 mag, 270, and 243. If I didn’t reload it would be worth stocking up.

I keep toying with a 7bc but I really want to see how the reloading aspect shakes out. If it’s good I’m going to buy an extra barrel/bolt face for my ph3 to give it a spin.
