Digitizing old tapes

Anyone have recommendations/ references for a service that digitizes old tapes?
I have about 50+ mini DV (8mm?) tapes that I'd like to get digitized/ preserved.
All from first years of the kids lives so very important to me & don't wanna risk them getting damaged, etc.
I've looked at Legacy Box but man there's tons of bad reviews, horror stories about them.
