I'm looking at getting a light weight packable jacket and have settled on montebell I think. What I cant decide is model. I'm a cold sleeper and even in 40deg weather I will be sleeping in it to stay warm so some level of warmth is needed. But it will be a layer under my chugach jacket so it can’t be to warm….

The two models I have been looking at are the UL down jacket from montebell that uses 2oz’s of 800 fill down and weighs in at 9oz’s total. Or the Highland jacket that uses 3oz’s of 650 fill down and weights 13oz’s.
I had the Alpine light that had 4oz’s of 800 and it was just too much warmth.

Would it be safe to assume that the UL with better down will probably be as warm as the highland with more down? Just save some weight?
