Need to get my wife a heavier down jacket and puffy pants. She’s not petite, but still curvy so mens sizing usually fits terribly. Looking for a high quality, very warm jacket something on the order of a grumman jacket that is highly packable, light, for sitting around for hours on end at below 20f. Does not need to be a hunting company, but should be an earth-tone-ish color. The first couple places I looked dont make any womens sizing in their warmer models. Most everything Im seeing is much lighter jackets with 3-4oz of fill, which she’s already got covered. Any suggestions where to look?

So far this is a front runner:

Will definitely love to hear from anyone who has used any of these options, and what conditions it has worked well in. My wife runs cold.

I would check out the Arcteryx women’s cerium hooded jacket. My wife has also tried one from first lite and kuiu. She says the arcteryx is a lot warmer and we were able to find it for a good sales price.

Looks great, but she is looking for a warmer jacket than this, probably something with half-again as much fill. If doubling a lightweight down jacket like this is the best option we’ve got that covered already.

I have 4 down coats the warmest two are feathered friends and montbell. The kuiu super down and stone glacier Grumman are very warm, but these two are super warm🤙

This is sounding like an extreme case with only one logical solution...the Castanza puffy:

How about one of those heated options? My wife had a heated vest she used on occasion and sounded like improved her comfort. I have found when it comes to my wife enjoying an outing in the cold, sucking it up and carrying a little extra weight can be the trade off. For a spell my wife insisted on having her insulated Carharts overalls and I lugged those suckers all over the place in exchange for more time in the field. Every time I tell my wife "be bold, start cold" she invariably adds another layer that somehow ends up on my back before we're even outta site of the truck!
Good luck! I understand your quest!
