Did your Christensen Arms group?

I've personally had 5 and loaded for 2 others- All were acceptable, several fantastic. The 6.5 Creedmoor Traverse had the tightest shooting barrel I've yet to own.

My 300wsm has always shot well. It’s been very consistent at a 3/4moa gun out to 800 with 180gr accubonds. It also shot the 200eldx well just haven’t shot them enough. I have around 350-400 rounds through it so far and love it.

Mr mesa 300 prc shot 1.5” groups for the twelve rounds I shot with Hornady match ammo. It fed so bad I quit there and it’s at the gun shop for sale. My dad’s ridgeline in 6.5 prc fed awful but was really accurate. He could only use it as a single shot. He traded on a seekins which he hasn’t shot much yet. Im a lefty and sticking to mainly tikkas and brownings because I got to use to the bolt throws on them.

My MPR in 6.5PRC shoots sub 1" with factory Barnes 127 LRX. Groups seemed to tighten after about 50 rounds.
Great gun, no issues.

I don't own one myself, but my friends own 4 mesas- 3 in 300wm and 1 in 6.5Cm. 2 of the 300 and the 6.5 were great from the beginning and the last 300wm has not shot a group yet, looks more like a shotgun pattern than a group.

Ridgeline Scout in 6 ARC that’s a clover leafer and an older carbon barreled .223 that shoots just as well.
Prefer my Bergaras and by far my Tikkas but my CAs do shoot.

I’m curious. Did your Christensen Arms group out of the box?

I’ve seen some bad publicity about them being over priced junk but i kind of wanted to see the numbers.

You pulled the rifle out of the box, slapped a scope on and torqued everything down. Did/does it group?

Absolutely not!!! purchased new in December. Followed break in procedure. It is a Ridgeline carbon barrel titanium in 7 prc. Worst groups I have ever had out of any gun. Also bolt won't close on some ammo. I sent it in to Christensen Arms. We are in the sixth week and it has not been looked at yet. I was still excited about the gun as the folks at CA have been nice and they stated that it would be fixed. After buying many types of factory loads and remounting scopes to rule that out and now 6 weeks in warranty with no end in sight, I am having buyers remorse. the worst part is I had read posts like mine before the purchase and I did it anyway. Now I feel like I need to share my story at least until the gun is fixed.

I've been through 4 so far. I've found them to be finicky. I currently have a matching pair of Mesas. One in 6.5 Creedmoor the other in .308. The Creed has shot several factory loads to an inch or better. The .308 is completely different as it hangs out between 1.5 and 2 inches. The best I've gotten out of it was around 1" with Bergers loaded by Federal.

My Ridgeline is easy to please. It'll shoot several factory loads in to an 1" or better.

A Mesa FFT in 7PRC was the only one that didn't earn a long term spot in the safe. It just wouldn't shoot anything factory loaded. And I don't hand load.

Yeah my 6.5 shot the 143 eld-x lights out, my .308 is picky still haven’t found a pet load yet… supposedly 168 seirras shoot well haven’t tested it yet. For their prices you would think they would be far less picky with ammo. My rugers and tikkas have shot great with several off the self loads and typically superb when you find one it really likes. I’ll likely replace the barrel on my .308, maybe I’ll see if I can buy a new bolt and turn it into a 6 arc or something…

CA Carbon Classic, had for 11 years. 300WSM will shoot dime size group IF the barrel is clean. After 25-30 rds the copper fouls and must be cleaned. Opens up to 3-5" then.

Yes, I know that many of their guns shoot well. I ignored the negative reviews and purchased one because I have 2 friends with similar CA guns that shoot well. All manufacturers could have a gun with issues. It seems like Christensen arms has an unusually high rate of defect. Like many on here I have purchased new in my lifetime 100s of guns and currently own 80 or 90. Maybe 20 % have been hunting rifles. Most have shot well out of the box. I have never had one this bad. Not sure how it could have passed QC and left the factory. I would not be talking about it if they fixed it timely. I am still waiting. My integrity will not allow me to sell a bad gun so if it does not get fixed to sub Moa with reasonable hunting loads for big game I will be stuck with a gun I can't use. Makes me wonder how many do not speak up. Judging from how busy their warranty dept is, I would say quite a few.
