We used a small gym bag and it wasn't pink, and we used it for all three of our girls. But we're not normal apparently, because we went to church that Sunday and actually "dropped off" our first baby in the nursery two days after she was born. I guess that's not "normal"??

Kind of funny though. That day my wife carried the baby into church, while I brought the car seat and stuff in after her. I walk in the door and there was a blanket covering the car seat. This woman walks up with a smile doing the girly thing to check out the new baby. So I jerk the seat up and down while yelling "I told you to stop your crying and shut up"!:D Wow, the look on her face. LOL. I thought she was going to pass out.

I used a Gander Mtn fanny pack that has shoulder straps. I used to hunt with it but it makes a perfect man bag for diapers. It is about 1000 ci and fits several diapers and all the needs. Plus it's camo so I am not lugging around a glorified purse. After two kids I would not even think about using something else. The organization and comfort was much better than any of the bags made specifically for diapers. After I am done using it for kids it will go back to hunting.

LOL!!!!!!

I used my cargo pockets. In my pants I had diapers, wipes, epipen, extra shirt/pants, and my edc stuff. All you really need. Bottle was either hand carried by baby or me or in the carrier. I bought milk wherever I was if it wasn't feasible to carry the little ice pack things.

Don't overthink it man...keep it simply! :)

Am I the only one wondering what kind of spin a hunting pack company would put on a diaper bag? Like a Kifaru pack with a built in changing table, wipe dispenser on the hip belt, a scent proof dry bag for diapers. I can picture the rhino logo on a bottle. Mountain opps baby formula😃.

Keep it simple who cares if you carry around a pink diaper bag. You will be seen as a man caring for his child = mad respect from society.

A bonus for me was when my wife would meticulously pack the diaper bag she could relate to all the effort I put into a hunting pack.

That's true about no one caring. I got more coments about being out with my baby then anything. Strange because it seemed normal to me since I was with my baby but it seemed extraordinary for others. However, there is a good looking pack on massdrop right now.

Tacti-Dad Pack...

It's actually a pretty damn good idea. Magpul wipe dispenser. Yeti baby bottles. Gals would buy all that shit. Babies are worse than puppies for attracting hot chicks. My 7 year old is my wing kid.

"Daddy, can I pet her dog?"

Why yes sweetie, we can....

Note to Dad to be: make sure you and your wife stay boyfriend and girlfriend after the kid gets here. If you think kids are expense, try divorce.

Ok, back to the sunshine....

Copy that my friend. We have discussed that and hope not to forget each other. I knows mothers tend to forget their husband and focus everything on the child.

My little guy hit eight months last week, and we've used a cheap jansport backpack the entire time. The bag itself is a pos, but I'm sold on using a backpack.
Also, one thing that has been useful for us is carrying a roll of dog poop bags in the diaper bag, you won't always be somewhere near a trash can, and those bags are certainly big enough for the first few months.

Good idea on the dog poop bags for storing dirty diapers when there is no trash around. I believe someone also mentioned 2 gallon zip lock bags as well

Dads can also forget the work that Mom is putting in while they're out hunting or fishing and living life like nothing changed.

I usually buy ny buddies a maxpedition sitka gearslinger as a gift when I find out they are having kids. It's a great little sling pack, tons of pockets, easy access, concealed carry friendly, and easily adaptable to different outings. Another bonus is it can be repurposed after kids.

Another option is Propper bias sling bag, I think its called. Very similar to the sitka gearslinger, and can be found for a little cheaper.

Don't go with anything you find at bed, bath, and beyond. I have on the the diaper dad ones and all it is, is a camo diaper bag, not practical at all.

Congratulations, being a father is the greatest gift you will ever receive. Kids are such a blessing.

That's awesome man, you're going to be a great Dad. Word of advice on delivery day:

Roll up your sleeves, get in there and help Mom. You'll eventually forget about about the gross parts and be knocking boots like it never happened..
