Mine just got here and considering tearing it apart and sealing as shown in the video on page 1. The other part of me wants to see if it will start leaking from the start.

Anyone end up with a saw that doesn't leak oil?

I picked up one yesterday. Filled it full of bar oil.

I took the oil cap off and installed an o ring in the groove. Left it upright in the garage for 24 hrs. No leak.

Would you be willing to take a photo of what you installed the O ring , as well as a link or description of what one you used. I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks

I've had one for two years. A tree broke the kick back shield. Then the trigger got spotty at times.

I replaced it recently with a new one. We found leakage occured when we filled the oil to the lip but not if we stopped just short of the top.

So it leaks out the cap and not the bar?

I haven't tracked it down with 100% certainty, but I don't think mine leaks from the cap. If I store it like you normally set a chainsaw down, it will leak considerably, maybe a tablespoon in a few days. But if I turn it 90 degrees so the oil cap is facing straight up, there is no leakage at all.

I kept looking at it and finally gave in! I used my buddies three years ago on a bear hunt and was very impressed at what it was capable of. Will be a great addition in the truck when headed to the hills in the spring after some snow melts to clear the road. Thanks for sharing this @Pitbull44
