I have a cow elk hunt on Utah's Deseret Land and Livestock land. Its a HUGE amount of land. Anyone ever hunted it? I have a day and a half to get it done is all and looking to see what people's opinion on the hunt is? And if its doable in that short of a time. I'm doing a fair amount of digital scouting but they don't let anyone on the property to scout before the hunts.

From the videos I have seen from there, I don't think you will have much trouble.

They want the cows harvested, so they will definitely give you good ideas of where to hunt on the ranch.

A few years ago, two of my kids drew cow tags there. A friend of mine guides a hunter or two every year on the ranch, so I asked the outfitter if he could be our guide and guide both of them. They were great and made the arrangements. We had a total blast. We were on elk the whole day and finally got into a spot where the kids (16 and 14) could get a good clean shot. So fun.

Hunted the ranch a few times for doe antelope as well. They were helpful in pointing us the right direction to find them as well.

Have fun, and from what I have heard on the "un guided" version of the hunt, they will still give you a good idea of where to go and general areas.

where did you find videos of some of their hunts? I've only got one day to try and get it done so I'm hoping we can find a canyon and get in on them. Any areas to look would be helpful. Obviously not a trophy hunt when going for a cow to fill the freezer. And its an unguided hunt for me this year.

You won't be unguided. They don't let you go out on your own regardless if you're public or paying. Someone will escort you around the property. It's not what you're thinking.

You can call and talk to them, but you'll have an escort at least showing you where to go.
