I asked the gal at the hotel if last night's storm was unusually strong and she responded, "nah happens all the time".
Sorry to hear that.My house got smoked
True that! I got hit two weeks ago by an uninsured driver and learned that's about 25% of vehicles on the road.Word of advice. If you come to Denver and rent a car between may and August, just buy the damage waiver. Itll save a big headache and as much hail we get, coupled with the idiots on the road, there’s a good chance you’ll need it.

We were just notified Progressive will not renew our homeowners due to wildfire risk. We live in town. Although 2 blocks from the mountain/end of development. We may see some insurance companies pull out of Colorado after this one. My insurance company is NOT going to be happy.
And this is one of the big reasons why CO’s car insurance rates are so high…True that! I got hit two weeks ago by an uninsured driver and learned that's about 25% of vehicles on the road.
There’s good reason why those of us living on the ‘right side of the divide’ call it “Best Slope”.Was on the backside of it, got a nice lightning show for awhile. “Best slope”
It is nice in that side but I’m kinda stuck over here so if yall could just stop rubbing it in that would greatThere’s good reason why those of us living on the ‘right side of the divide’ call it “Best Slope”.
Castle DoctrineGuy is currently climbing all over my roof.
Yep, good old front range drivers. Everywhere you go is a white knuckle experience now, especially with our 'newcomers'. I'm getting out of here next year, either to WY or western NE.Drove through that last night on the way back from doing some work in Longmont and there was definitely some very poor driving on display... I mean, if you have your freakin' flashers on and you're going 20 miles per hour, GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE!
But that's only if you're facing south when calling it "right". At this moment I'm on the right side of the divide, until I head out the back door in a couple minutes, then I'll be on the left side. There’s good reason why those of us living on the ‘right side of the divide’ call it “Best Slope”.
We shall try. That crap weather you all deal with over there is punishment enough. It is nice in that side but I’m kinda stuck over here so if yall could just stop rubbing it in that would great
I paid quite a bit more because I refused to do the 2%. It turns out it was the right decision. But that's only if you're facing south when calling it "right". At this moment I'm on the right side of the divide, until I head out the back door in a couple minutes, then I'll be on the left side.
We have $1000 deductibles on our cars and house, so windshields are always on our own. As for roofs......last year I called USAA to get a quote on home insurance for a house we were looking at. They quoted it and then said "that includes a 2% home value deductible for wind and hail damages". So at that point, we're essentially just paying for total catastrophic house replacement insurance without any hail damage coverage. At some point, I'll cancel and just roll the dice. When I was in middle and high school, we had to replace our roof 3 times in 6 years because of bad hail storms. A few years ago bad storms hit the exact same spots in south Springs two years in a row. Some of those folks had just finished replacing their roofs from the year before, then had to do it again. Lots of folks got dropped by insurance then.
Hasn’t been bad the last couple years, just a few storms but three winters ago was crap, didn’t get the usual quick melt.We shall try. That crap weather you all deal with over there is punishment enough.
Every once in a while we get some snow.
