Amazing technical hiking pack designed to carry kids. You want to do some summer hiking training for next falls elk season? Put your 40lb toddler in this backpack and fill-up all the other generous storage for a 75-80lb total load. From infant to toddler I took my kids scouting in this pack loaded with glass, water and food and it was excellent training with the family!

- adjustable from infant to toddler
- integrated retractable sun shade
- optional foot stirrups
- safety harness
- generous on-board storage
- removable day pack
- integrated kickstand
- super comfortable suspension system for heavy loads and long hikes
- cordura construction

We have absolutely loved this kid carrier. Whether used for a day at the museum or a multi-day backpack trip it is incredibly versatile, comfortable and lightweight. Our kids would fall asleep within 20 min of starting a hike and could sleep comfortably with the generous adjustment provided. It was equally functional when we had a crawling infant as it was with a 3+ year old 40lb toddler who wasn’t yet a speedy hiker or would want breaks after an hour on the trail.

Question: I have this pack and I friggen LOVE IT. but the manual states Max load is 48 lbs (kid max: 40 pounds, kid + weight in pack: 48). Have you packed it with more weight with no issues? My sons now four and he’s gonna be too heavy (about 36 lbs) to have him and water/food for the day scouting trips I’ve taken him on last season.

I absolutely have had WAY more weight in there. The frame and suspension system are strong. I believe since this is a kid carrier Thule is being very conservative on load ratings as the liability is so much greater in this instance than a standard backpack.

My standard setup in this was I carry the kid and the heaviest items in our multi-day setup. My wife would carry bulky & lighter items in a full size BP. Her pack weight would usually be around 45lbs, mine would usually be around 65 with kid.

This makes me very happy. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to take him out this year. Thank you!!!
