I'm not a huge fan of the term DIY. Kind of annoys me to see guys say DIY, backcountry, harvest, talk about the elevation feet they climbed, organic meat, etc. Not mad at them at all. Kind of trendy. I think a lot of guys who use those terms are adult onset hunters that have just learned that way.

I too am guilty of using some of those terms at times. I think guys should only clarify when the have been guided since the great majority of guys have never been on a guided hunt.

I'm probably just grouchy.

No. A transporter can’t legally tell you where to go.

Someone, as in an acquaintance?

If not, and the only help was a bush pilot dropping you off at a location you figured out, that’s DIY.

No difference in the commercial airline that got you to the bush plane location, as far as DIY, in my opinion.
