Hey everyone, I recently shoot a once in a lifetime buck. I have several shoulder mounts already but I am tossing the idea around on having a floor pedestal mount done. Curious if anyone regrets having one of these done? Any pictures or ideas?

I mount them how I first see them. Try to relive the memory! If you have the space go for it! And congratulations on the harvest.

Floor pedestals are nice because you can admire them up close. Just need a little bit of floor space for it. Kinda like having a shelf in a corner or a chair, etc. I have an Oryx pedestal that’s nice but that definitely needs more room than a deer. I also like wall pedestals more than just a regular shoulder mount. Here’s a few pics of different animals as floor pedestals and wall pedestals.

Pedestal is no good if you have a beast of a dog. Mine is going on the wall this weekend. I really like that hard left on the gemsbok.

Pedestals always bring life back to a critter than just a head on the wall. Lots of options with pedestals.

I have 3 young sons. my wife can't keep lamps or couches upright during diving catches for a football. My pedestal would be toast.

#1 need picture of the buck...we have 3 pedestal mounts and 15 or so wall shoulder mounts. The pedestals are of my wife's Antelope and a Chamois from NZ. Zero regrets. kept the pedestals fairly small so the focus is the animal. Pedestals are nice because you can move them more easily IMO stick them in corners or tight areas. If you incorporate shelves or something in them you can use it for books and it becomes dual purpose.

We have two dogs a 3.5 year old and a 1.5 year old and have had zero issues with them. Taxidermy is kind of the norm in most rooms of our house and even my Full body Thar gets very little attention. If you have any kind of building skills do yourself a favor and just build the pedestal yourself. Cut your cost in half.
