Is there anyone that makes a deep six insert heavier than 20 grains? Looking to use them in Victory VAP arrows.

Not looking for an outsert or halfout. Yes, I could stack the inserts but would prefer not to

I know Tony Trietch used some but saw he said they are no longer made?

Easton has 75gr brass inserts for their FMJ’s.

They aren't Deep 6 - only for the 5mm arrows.

Unless something has changed, no Deep 6 inserts heavier. Check my old threads, I adapted the Gold Tip FACT system to Deep 6 to make them heavier and weight adjustable, takes some work though.

Tony's were custom made.

I used 50 grains of the brass hit insert glued in behind the deep 6 on my Easton Axis, gave me 70-75 grains, I can't remember.

About 6 months ago I attempted to achieve the same goal. I failed and ended up stacking 2 deep six inserts

Here's my thread:

Gold Tip Pierce Platinum - Deep 6 - FACT

Haven't been using them because of Deep 6 Broadhead selection, broadhead durability as compared to standard thread, and lighted nocks work like crap in that size. Only way I'd go back is using Iron Will heads, and no lighted nocks. But, much easier to just use a 5mm arrow.

I’ve been down this path as well on getting more FOC on 4mm heads without outserts and the furthest I got was stacking 2 inserts, using collars, and using 150g deep six broadheads.

Agreed, I just wish there was an easier solution like everyone else. I’ll most likely stick with my 5mm Axis. I do like the VAP arrows but hate any outsert.
Using a 125 grain VPA 2 blade and a SEVR (once they are released) would be perfect for me.

I have 300 VAP Elites with HIT’s and even with 100gr and quick fletches I’m at 11% foc with a 28” arrow. I’m going to put a footer on the strengthen the front and and possibly add a little weight behind the insert. If I add 40gr to the front even with 100gr insert I will be getting 14.5% FOC, could get up over 15% with a 125gr head with a 465gr arrow. Not sure I need that high of FOC they currently fly awesome out past 80.

There is only one Deep Six HIT insert currently available. We (Iron Will) make Deep Six broadheads in 100, 125, and 150 grains. We are also making 25 grain hardened steel footers for these arrows and will start selling them in about a month in six diameters. From my testing on heavy bone, the 1" hardened steel footer greatly improves the arrow strength when HIT inserts are used. With the smaller shank and thread size of Deep Six broadheads, the 1" hardened steel footer is a great addition in my opinion.

Bill,

That sounds great, I have used Rayzor-VPA collar with success and will love to compare the two. I look forward to seeing what you all come out with.
When you say “these arrows”, do you mean the VAP and the Easton Axis? I know of quite a few people shooting each arrow that love their Iron Wills.

For the Deep Six HIT, I’ve heard there is no brass insert because the threads we’re not durable/strong enough. What do you think about this? In your opinion, is there any chance of a heavier Deep Six HIT in the future?

And because Easton owns the patent, so nobody else is allowed to make them, at least that's my understanding.

Your options are to have a machine shop make them custom, just use Footers and heavier broadheads, or do what I did with the FACT weights or other weights behind the insert.

Bill, Will one of the six diameters of the new steel footer fit the 4mm arrow? Hoping so..........

I saw an old thread on AT saying that VPA made 150 deep six field points but I couldn’t find them anywhere, I also read they made 25&50 grain brass weights milled down to .165 to glue in behind the deep six insert which would be awesome but I couldn’t find them I called them today and am waiting for a call back I’ll let you guys know what I find

I double stacked deep six inserts to gain weight.

That said I’m done with deep six, not worth it to me and I’m going back to .204 sized arrows. Not enough heads available, limited weight options are the reasons I’m going back
