The only issue with 223 for nrl hunter is the giant animal size steel targets they use generally won’t show much when hit by a 223.is shooting 223 in skills stupid I don't really want to blow a ton of money on ammo and just want to shoot and have fun. I’m taking my hunting rifle to some NRL Hunter matches this year. KRG XRAY, Origin, Bartlein 6.5PRC CF 22”, BixnAndy trigger, Diligent Enticer S suppressor, Atlas bipod. With either Maven RS1.2 2.5-15 or Vortex AMG 6-24 it weighs 12.5# total. Plan on getting some LRF Binos and Tricer RP bipod. Also I think the 10 oz suppressor allotment is only for Open light. So you could potentially have a 12 lbs 10 oz rifle. Open heavy is still 16 lbs total regardless

Yep, if you're going to shoot a 223, I'd definitely tell the RO at the start of every stage that you're shooting a 223 for skills so they are looking closer for impacts. The only issue with 223 for nrl hunter is the giant animal size steel targets they use generally won’t show much when hit by a 223.
6mm won’t make power factor so won’t qualify for points or prizes unless it’s in a factory gun. 6.5 CM is what 90% of guys are usingI’m putting a rifle together. It’s currently chambered in .308win. It seems like 6s and 6.5s are the kings. I am familiar with the 6.5cm and I’m considering a rebarrel, but being cost conscious, is there a real benefit of one over the other?
There is a large benefit to 6.5 creed over a 308 if you’re trying to win. If your 308 is your hunting rifle and you’re going to get better with your hunting setup, run the 308 and put the money towards practice ammoI’m putting a rifle together. It’s not at the moment. My hunting rig has been a 6.5cm. I just picked up a Bergara b14 in 308 for $200. Bought it mainly for the rem700 footprint.
