Deciding on a 22 and is the ARC really that great?

Yea makes sense. Just the same as the 6 arc. I have a family member who has a bolt gun 6 arc. He really likes it. It will have a longer barrel life than my 6 creed. But my 6 creed is shooting same weight bullets 300 fps faster. The trade off is less barrel life.

ARC all day for .224 but for 6mm I say go creed, especially if you are shooting factory. If hand loading 6ARC. Save a ton of weight and $$$.

I have 6 arc fluted 18” Tikka barrels right now, and am shipping bolts to get bushed for the ARC bolt face. I can ship a complete barreled action in 2026.

I plan on listing a few of them for sale after Black Friday for a good deal.

I run multiple 5.56ars and 223rem bolt guns, 22creed bolt gun, a 22arc ar, an 18” 22arc tikka bolt gun, and I’ve had a 16 & 20” 22arc ruger gen2 bolt guns. Reloaded and shot factory ammo for all.

I say life’s to short not to get a cheap 16” 22ARC ruger bolt gun to run factory 88s. If I had to get rid of them all and choose one it’d probably a 22arc or 223rem bolt gun. I think the 22arc is a great cartridge. With Handloads I could run 80gr eldms at 2980fps with cfe223 getting over 10firings per case using Hornady once fired brass in the the 16” ruger bolt gun.

. I hope more factory 22 ARC bolt gun options hit the market soon. I think Seekins is or has one in the works. I have a Ruger in 6 ARC. Accurate gun but not a fan of how it runs. I think I would choose Howa over Ruger but never shot one.

Which bullet/cartridge? I have a Q in 22ARC 18" Proof barrel) that absolutely stacks the 88gr ELDM, but as you know in CO not legal for big game. I have a 16" 6ARC Proof to switch out (love the interchangeable barrel on the Q) for hunting season. 6ARC 103 ELDX I'm hoping will shoot well.

I loaded the 103 ELD-X over a max charge of Varget. It was superbly accurate out of my gun and I was quite impressed with its terminal performance on both critters.
