This will be used primarily at the range but will likely see some field use as well. It certainly doesn't need to be anywhere near top of the line. Just decent, reliable, and light.

Thanks!!

Look for an older Bushnell Elite 20-60x80. They made a 22x, 30x and an SLR adapter for them. The glass is pretty damn good.

I sold my Meopta S2 spotter a year ago December, and then ended up drawing a sheep tag this year. So instead of buying another high dollar spotter that I rarely ever used, I picked up a Nikon Fieldscope ED III 20-60x60 from a member on here. Now it's expendable. I'd sell it for $500 and it comes with an extra eyepiece as well........fixed 20x. Let me know if you're interested.

I personally love my Athlon Ares 15-45 X 65. I purchased from a member on the forum but you can also call Doug at Cameralandany for a great price on them.

I have an old leupold gold ring 25x50 armored spotter that is small light and fantastic.
Can be found on ebay in the 200 -300 dollar range.

Do you think it’s better than the Vortex Razor 11-33?
I cant speak to a Razor, i can only say my friend has a Viper Hd 85mm and the Maven is just as clear and has better low light clarity. And a Viper is $900.
Based on my experiences with the Viper and many others i tried before settling on the Maven, i would bet the Maven has better low light clarity than the Razor.

I hope it’s way better than the viper. That’s what I have now. I’m wanting to sell it and upgrade glass. I tend to use my binos off a tripod 95% of the time so I don’t need anything fancy. I just want something lighter that I will actually pack with me and not leave in the truck.

I was happy with my razor 11-33, but it suffered in low light. During the day it was great but left me wanting more power. I ordered the maven cs1, should be here Monday.
