I'll be on PTO for the entire December Window of the AZ OTC Archery deer window. I plan to hunt it pretty hard and will primarily be hunting the southern units surrounding Tucson. I do realize that this OTC window coincides with the last Coues rifle hunt. I didn't really think anything of it until I was on a hill-side glassing up a group of mule deer until a shot rang off about 1000 yards away as I was out scouting during the 3rd Coues hunt. I do realize Mule Deer and Coues don't typically frequent the same habitats but in some of the flatter units they can be in the same general area (coues on the mountain ranges and mules in the flats between different mountain ranges). I'll be targeting Mule Deer so I'll be getting some elevation to glass them up (i.e. where hunters could look for coues deer) but wanted to see if anyone has had any run-ins with rifle hunters? Additionally, is everyone just wearing some blaze orange and calling it good?
