How about an 18” threaded left hand 243?

I also agree on the 6 cm chambering.

Would love to see 223 magazines with springs that work for more than a few hundred rounds.

But if there really is a Santa Claus, Tikka would make an ultralight T3x with an actual 223 length action and a short threaded barrel.
My thoughts exactly!

Dear Tikka -

Make a Tikka version of the Sig Cross.

Hugs,
Long Time Tikka Customer Who's Got a Serious Gun Boner for the Sig Cross
The Tac A1 exists - are you saying you want an integrated receiver/chassis? That seems way out of their wheelhouse given they dont want to make more than 1 receiver for 223 rem - 338 WM.

$900 vs $3k = desire to ask Santa.
3K? The OP wants a shorter SS 223. Tikka makes a SS 223 with a 22.4" barrel. so $900 + $250 (or less) cut n thread. Done in a few weeks.
Or a 6 Creed- buy a SS 243 have it rebarreled sell your new take off.
I had them do one for me recently. Thread chamber and crown was $365 + $365 for a blank.
so $900 + $730 done in 2 months vs. $900 done maybe never.
If you want something go get it!

oh yeah, agree on the 223 front. Those $1100 16" roughtec ranch models seem like a less than great value to your point because a guy can just chop/thread a lite for a fair bit cheaper.
