I originally from the Hudson Valley in NY where lyme was first discovered. If you are going for a walk in the woods where I'm from it's not if, but how many ticks will you have on you.

I've been treated for Lyme over 10 times, hospitalized twice. It just came with the territory, hunting where I grew up hunting.

Check into disulfiram, this was the only thing that helped me. I suffered with it for months. I tried many antibiotics (prescribed from a Lyme specialist) then as an experiment we tried disulfiram and after 3 days I was back to myself. It worked amazingly well for me. Feel free to pm me with any questions, it might worth a a shot. Best wishes and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Got lyme disease from a spring bear hunt last year. Had a tiny tick bite under my arm. First came terrible fever. Got treated with antibiotics and got through it not to bad. Then comes the insomnia and everything you like to eat makes you sick. Can't even think about eating cheese. I have been ok with red meat in moderation thank God. Be careful out there this spring, it's not a fun thing to go through.
Try a two week fast. Full 14 days with just water but don’t drown yourself. When you aren’t eating the body needs very little water. You get sick from eating because your body wants to fast

Buhner protocal total healed mine. Got lymes back in 2014. Found out about Buhner in 2016 and ran his program. Complelty changed my life and made me feel young again. Diet went back to normal, no more joint pain, and best of all I sleep at night. Highly recommned his books and products.

After retuning from Northern Wisconsin from a grouse hunt I found a tick on the inside of my upper leg, it did not look good, bullseye was forming around the tick, which I had removed. I went to see my Dr. and had a test run. He put me on doxycycline and told me not to stop treatment until I heard from him. A few days later he called and confirmed lime disease and told me to make sure I took all the doxycycline until they were gone. I have never had a medicine mess up my system like it did, it lasted for about three weeks after the treatment stopped. Thankfully it did the trick, I never got sick. One more thing, it's not true that ticks are not an issue after the first frost.

Please, all you spring bear hunters, get in front of this. I had literally 50 or more ticks on me after a hunt last year. Gave me (but especially my wife) the heebee jeebees. I applied permethrin to my clothes and pack this year with excellent results. Watching ticks on treated clothes is pretty entertaining. The are very uncomfortable acting almost as if they are stepping on a hot surface. Most importantly, I found one straggler on me last night instead of the 20 or 30 I had on me every day after hunts last year. Tick checks are necessary as well.

I had it several years ago. Without a doubt the most sick I've ever been. Dr gave me a single heavy dose of doxy about 6 days after the bite. I spent 3-4 days on the couch, which I have no memory of. A month later I started feeling sick again and got a huge rash on my leg. That single dose is only good if administered within 24 hrs of the bite. Should have been on the month long regimen, which I got on the after getting sick the second time around.
From what I have read a single 200 mg dose of doxy can be effective in preventing Lyme if administered up to 72 hours after a tick bite.

Interesting. Dr's told me 24 hrs. But my track record for finding a good doc is just as good as finding a good archery shop

My dad was treated early. Wife and her 3 sisters not early. I also test positive and have no symptoms.

My hackles go up when folks say things like this are fake. Until your result comes back positive you really dont care and should leave it at that.

lymemexico.com A world class treatment facility for treating Lyme disease. I have a customer whose daughter was treated there. She was literally in a wheel chair when she was taken down there. 6 months later she was back to work.

I have a close friend who had the same experience. She was treated in the US. From being a professional motocross racer to wheelchair and seizers to now fine. It was a long battle but she is great now.

I’ve been run over, had 3 acl and other ligament, and a bunch of other surgeries related to cancer removal, broken nose, gall bladder, etc….

In all that, not one compares to the health decline Lyme disease caused me. During my initial visit discussing how they intended to treat the cancer I had, My oncologist team told me the only correlation of patients they’d treated with the type cancer I had was Lymes disease.

I told you all that to say this. I’ve been through it to still be considered healthy. But, nothing had/has affected me like the lingering side affects of contracting Lymes disease. Whether the doctors are right about the correlation is meaningless to me at this point. But, I’ve never felt as bad as I did the month of antibiotics putting it into remission. And, the lasting side affects will affect me till the day I die.

It’s a rough road for sure. I’d advise everyone to get the vaccine. ASAP. You don’t want this.

The new Tucker Carlson podcast on ticks is very interesting.
I listened to that, pretty far out there for sure. Initial though was this woman is crazy. scary thing is I wouldn’t be shocked if it was true especially with the crazy stuff the government did in the 50-60s

Did the woman explain the 5,300 year old mummy found in Italy that was found to have the genetic material for the bacteria that causes Lyme disease?

I would guess that the lab who made Lyme found that mummy.

And also bet that some anti-hunting cow farting climate change group funded the red meat allergy tick disease experiment

Guessing and betting, the very foundation of the scientific method.

It’s hard to believe that we can develop a shot for Covid in a few months but Lyme has been around for a looong time and little to no progress has been made. As I mentioned before, disulfiram was the only thing that worked for me. If you’re struggling with chronic Lyme, it might be worth looking at. Best wishes, spray down and hope you don’t get bit.

Not to mention there are other bacteria/ parasites that ticks carry that have very adverse health complications if not tested for and treated. For me it was babesia, nasty parasite that’s in the blood. Be sure if your bit that the dr tests for everything and don’t just give a generic doxycycline prescription as a cure all. You have to treat all of it, not just the Lyme.

I got Lyme disease last fall, doctors thought the rash was poison ivy and then after a couple weeks not getting better I went to local Mayo Clinic and they said I should test for Lyme's and bingo, that was it!
I'm probably fortunate so far but I do notice aches and pains more than before, especially my knees and legs and just overall sore after doing small things that never bothered me....it's a bad deal for some and not so much for other....just don't get it if possible! Hopefully my stuff doesn't get worse but afraid with Lyme's and age it's inevitable to get worse.

Just wanted to raise awareness out there. I was in Wyoming. I am somewhat lucky so far my symptoms aren't that bad , I have to eat a plain salad or rice while my family eats pizza. Haha. Already planning to go back to Wyoming this spring.
Very sorry to hear about your diagnosis and hope you have a full recovery.

Are you certain the tick came from WY? Or possibly Lyme was acquired somewhere else and serendipitous you found a tick during your trip to WY.

There are a few states where the tick that transmits Borellia are not found. WY is one of these states.

“It is important to note that the blacklegged tick does not live in Wyoming and most Wyoming Lyme disease cases traveled to an area where these ticks do live.” From WY Department of Health website.

If you did indeed acquire Lyme Disease while in WY the Public Health Department needs to know the region so they can check for other cases and presence of the tick. I would not be surprised if the tick is in WY, but public awareness needs to increase if confirmed.
