Had an intresting range day Sunday. Went to check drops on the new X bolt in 7 PRC. (Thing shoots like a dream btw. Loves the 170 Terminal Ascents consistent .75 to .5 groups and still pushes them 2880 out of a 20'' barrel). Third shot on steel at 550 was slighlty left. Corrected for the wind and the fourth shot was quite loud and kicked a lot harder. Then I noticed half my suppressor is gone. Mount and first chamber tight on the gun, the rest is missing. Took me a few minutes to find the can about 80 yards down range with no signs of damage or baffel strikes. Both pieces are threaed and will screw back together with no damge to the threads. Looks like the welds gave up.

Theres a handful of similar cases on Sniperhide and AR15.com. First issue I've had with 1000 plus rounds through the can .Buut only about 100 rounds of 7 PRC.

Good news was I only had to adjust two inches left to rezero and then could finsh the range session. Can is on its way back to Dead Air.

yea thats what I've been reading. They quoted a 60 day turn around time which sucks since I got an elk hunt in 50 days.

Seems like it’s sort of a known issue with that silencer. Probably why they stopped making it.

Let us know how they respond, I got the newer 3d printed one and so far I love it, my dad has used the basic nomads (not the ti) for years and likes them too.

Luckily though, with your elk hunt 50 days away and the fast approvals you could more than likely get a new silencer in time for your hunt but…$$$$

The new 3d print nomad XC line has remedied this issue to my knowledge and experience. I think deadair is quite good at fixing weld failures. The Scythe-Ti failures similar to this are usually returned within 2 weeks time max.

Sounds like a good reason to get the wife on board with it.

I'd ask them if they can work something out to get you a XC at cost pronto to have ready for the hunt if they cant get the failed one turned around fast enough.
