I picked one up for $300 recently. For a frame pack I think the MR Pintler deserves some consideration. A nice pack for less $ than some of the others.
A lot of first impressions..I understand thier new..little nervous about it honostlyHave you looked at the AKEK review here on Rokslide?

My personal opinion is that you will be fine with any pack that has a separate frame, i.e., not an internal frame.
There's some really good, quality daypacks out there in the $40 to $60 range. I actually picked up a pretty darn good one (new) for $20.
