Damn squirrels

I am looking for a good excuse for not seeing a single elk opening weekend. I know wolves and other hunters are overused so I was wondering if that annoying chatter squirrels make is alarming the elk to my presence or is it at least something I can tell my friends is the reason if I don’t tag out this season?

Definitely alarms the other game. Elk and deer will be extremely alert around a mad squirrel

I'm on your side there. I hate that sound. Usually comes right after you really get set and are expecting something to happen. Grrrr.

Squirrels running through the leaves drives me crazy too. A lot of noise and unwanted distraction.

Squirrels screwed me out of two bulls two years ago, I even thought about getting a pellet pistol to pack with me this year.

Squirrels stole my ivories off a cinder block in the back yard last year.

The first squirrel to chatter at me gets judo point wired to his tree! The gloves are off.

Thanks for the advise still hunter. I’ll try packing an air pistol this year. I’ll look cooler because I have a side arm like I need to fend off a grizzly but it will be for those little devils instead.
