Cz 457 mtr or tikka t1x mtr .22 LR

Looking at replacing a marlin 10/22. It was destroyed which really sucks bc my grandfather got it for me when I was a kid. My dad decided he wanted to get me something so I said a new 10/22. Well, they don’t exist.

Second between these two for great accuracy shooting variants and maybe doing some shooting competitions. Would probably be a stock conception. Not really wanting to turn this into a semi custom any time soon. And honestly, I’d probably buy another .22 and do mods to it. If it’s a gift from my dad then I will want to leave it be.

Anyone have experience with either gun? Any differences between 16” and 20” barrels?

Tikka has a threaded barrel which would be fun to add a can but isn’t a deal breaker.

I have a tikka 270 and love it. But the wood stock on the cz is pretty dang nice!

Meaning they are no longer in production. Saw one on gun broker that was rusted/pitted but a refinished stock and it was $450 I think. For a little more I could get 5x the rifle.

Ruger makes bunches of 10/22’s every day. A lot of Marlins out there, confused about which model you’re talking about. But to answer your question, get a CZ…. Joe
