I am a lefty and love Brownings. I would like to buy a lh Hells Canyon in 7mm prc with McMillan stock. It comes with a heavy Sporter fluted contour barrel that's 26" long. The listed weight is 7 lbs 7 oz.
I would like to shorten it up to 22" for handling and try to get it near 7 lbs. The barrel is cerakoted also. I don't care about it being threaded. Can this be successfully cut down and recrowned without messing up the cerakote on the barrel? Will the flutes extending to the end of the barrel cause issues as well?
I don't care if the very end of the barrel is left stainless after cutting and crowning. I know opinions may vary about the need to do this, buts it's what I want.
I also don't know any smiths in SE MO. So any recommendations?
