BreaKO recoil reducer with custom aluminum plate that fits neatly inside a Tikka T3 synthetic stock.

These mercury recoil reducers are sometimes added by trap shooters to balance their shotguns. Someone decided to try this to tame recoil on a high caliber T3. Adds about 1.5lbs of weight, so not a bad theory.

In theory the added mass would absorb some recoil.

Why mercury? Not totally sure. It is a very dense metal and maybe the liquid property has some recoil absorption benefits?

This is a discontinued product, but it's still up on Midway's site. Reading reviews, other people have used this for rifle recoil with success, all good reviews.
