Custom mini Canadian belt knife

Selling my bigger deer rock cbk, figured I’d mention it in the group here as I know the wait time is long. I just prefer the slightly smaller one.

What are you guys thoughts on the ESEE Canadian belt knife made by White River? Its magnacut steel. Opinions?View attachment 1013732
It doesn't look like it has the right tip up/handle angle geometry that makes it magical. Sweet knife though nonetheless. I know the one I have that Dixie made me has it right because it's basically based off the original. It almost cuts by itself. Opens skin up like a zipper.

Looks ok. Very thick stock (.13”) and a saber grind is sort of silly for a knife meant to cut, but everyone has their preferences. Huge ricasso is sort of a waste of space in my opinion when you could have more cutting edge. Pretty spendy for what it is I think

Thanks for your input. Since reading this entire thread and learning more, I can't unsee that huge ricasso on the esee. Also I think I'd rather support a custom maker. I'm just gonna have to get put on the list for a Dixie Zipper.

The new belt knife pattern @SD Hunter and I came up with. This is his in magnacut, with some cool accented scales (Mexican kingwood)

This knife is a long time in the making. I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for years, just never knew who could bring it to life. Finally found the right guy!

Optimized size and shape of blade, and blade to handle relationship, for slicing under the hide. Small, thin and nimble enough to feel deft in the hand but substantial enough to do real work without hand fatigue and excess weight. Capable of slicing, skinning, breaking down, boning and even caping. A capable jack of all trades.

Thanks Slalomnorth for taking it on and making it come to fruition. I think it’s gonna be the CBK, perfected. And darn purty looking too!
