Custom gun builder who also does load development?

I love custom rifles and own several. While I do reload, to me, it’s mostly a means to an end as I enjoy shooting somewhat obscure calibers (6.5 Swede, .358win, .300 Sav, etc.) and I live in California where it’s hard to buy ammo off the shelf. I really don’t enjoy the experimentation and load development aspect. It’s not convenient for me to get to a range to do a lot of testing, so I find it a bit tedious.

That said, I would love my next custom build to be completed and arrive at my FFL with a proven load recipe. Is there a trusted and vetted custom hunting rifle builder out there who will also do load development and deliver the final product with a tested safe and accurate load recipe? I’d gladly pay expenses and a reasonable fee for this additional service.

Thanks.

Travis Rbros rifles shoots every rifle prone off of a bipod and sends a target with load data at no extra charge.

I believe most guys will do this but usually at a premium..I have heard Travis at rbros will do it with his rifles free of charge, but not sure if he will with customer supplied parts builds however since he uses his own custom actions on most of his builds

If Travis builds the rifle he shoots it and wont send it out unless it meets his standard.
Weather its his action or not.
I think he knows his reamers and doesn't take much for him to get a load.

I wasn’t trying to say he doesn’t, just wasn’t sure if he did or not. Definitely not trying to bad mouth anyone in any way. That’s great to hear as I’ve been thinking of having him do one for me in the next month. And I live within an hour and a half of him so makes it easy!

Rbros is legit, Travis has spent tons of time answering my stupid questions lol.
Never thought I'd ever talk myself into spending that on a rifle. But man he makes it easy and its smooth as butter.
Now I'm starting to try come up with ways to afford another.

I thought load development was half of the fun of a new rifle. I would rather shoot my rifle and develop loads with a little guidance from my gunsmith than let him have all of the fun.

Lol even if I didn't hate reloading and especially load development, I just simply don't have time to be messing with that trivial stuff.

You're probably better off getting it sent to you, putting 100-150 rounds factory ammo through it to get it really broken in, give it a good fresh clean and send it to @Unknown Munitions for load development. Or, maybe he has a smith nearby he works with?

Travis from RBROS makes an excellent rifle. Thats the only one I've had experience with. But there are others that make great rifles as well.

It's definitely worth giving Travis at Rbros a call. He can build them to shoot factory ammo too. Lots of good stuff on his social media pages.

He built me a 300wm a few years back. Zero complaints.
